The Finnish Cultural Foundation Grants 2009  (20.02.2009)
Researchers Tiina Luokkanen and Jonna Malmberg received both one year grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation for their researches. Tiinas research is focused on higher education students and knowledge workers coping strategies in stressful learning situations. Jonnas research concerns about elementary school students self-regulated study strategy use.

Professor Sanna Järvelä and researchers Piia Näykki and Jari Laru will participate in the Alpine CSCL Rendez-Vous workshop in Svitzerland. The workshop is organised by the Kaleidoscope Noe CSCL SIG.
Visiting researcher Zoltan Galik  (12.01.2007)

PhD student Zoltan Galik from Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), working at the Department of Informatics Education, is visiting the Research Unit for Educational Technology from early January 2007 till end of May 2007. Zoltan’s research interest is related to the field of computer supported collaborative learning. He is joining the research unit to work particularly in our ongoing research project: SCORE (Pedagogical Structuring of Collaboration and Self-Regulated Learning: Individual and Group-Level Perspectives).

Ph.D. Hanna Salovaara, who defended her Doctoral Thesis in June 2005 at the Research Unit for Educational Technology, will be promoted as Doctor Primus of the University of Oulu in the Doctoral Promotion seremonies in 19.-21.5.2006.

Scamo Project Received Funding from Finnish Science Academy  (16.11.2005)
Prof. Järvelä's project "Studying and Scaffolding Motivation and Self-Regulated Learning among Elementary School Students" received three year funding. Hanna Salovaara and Hanna Järvenoja have participated the project planning.
Mr. Jari Laru has been selected to the affiliate position to the Graduate School for Interdisclipnary Research on Learning Environments  (16.11.2005)
